How to tune closed loop for ideal AFR ratio's under part thottle |
||
As technology has changed over the years with the combustion motor, there has been no bigger change than the use of Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). While it may seem difficult to understand, the articles above will help you break down each component that makes up an EFI system. Everything from the ECU to all of the ECU sensors, to how to tune and control the system will be covered to make sure that you get a good foundation built on understanding modern EFI Systems.
If right now you are saying to yourself that your not much of a computer person, don't worry, while tuning an EFI set up does require the use of a computer, most manufacturers understand that we are car guys, not computer guys. Because of this most aftermarket car manufactures do a great job making the set-ups very user friendly.
While the articles above don't necessarily get into the particulars of tuning any one brand of ECU, they do give you the theory, understanding, and background involved in being able to tune any ECU out there. Also, there are software differences between each manufacturer, but the way the engine is tuned and its behavior and feedback from the ECU sensors are the same. If you understand the basics of EFI tuning and how it works, then you will be able to tune any car once you understand that ECU’s software. Check back often for new articles and updates.
